Web Standards:

Kylielewis.com has been constructed using the web standards for HTML5 and CSS 2.1 and CSS 3. It will be updated when new web standards are available to help my site maintain credibility and ease of usability for my visitors.

Usability:

My navigation is consistent all throughout my site. Any visitor will be able to find what they need to with the fewest amount of clicks needed. Links are a different color and will highlight a different color on the navigation bar once scrolled over, and links used in the body of my website are a different color as well. My navigation is also on the left-hand side and the bottom of my site to help visitors be familiar with it’s structure, as it is the same as other sites found on the web. The navigation, logo, colors, and the basic buildup of my site is consistent on every page so visitors will never get confused.

SEO:

My site is the first thing that pops up on Google when you type in “kylielewis.com”, mainly because I have key terms such as my assignments (site plan, style guide, etc.) and a lot of my site has design and public relation terms as well. I need to maintain this for my site so I will be recognized at the top of Google for a very long time.

ROI:

By following web standards, usability, and SEO on my site, I will be able to show visitors that my site does have purpose and meaning for being what it is. Future employers will be able to go to my site, see what I can do and know for a fact they can rely on me to work for them, all because I proved to them I can through a website I built.
